El Ay
I went to LA & San Francisco & Monterey a few weeks ago. Most of the time was spent in LA, but we also went to SF&Monterey on the weekend. Pix:
(all taken by Stephen Vanderpool)
From first to last: James Dean statue at Griffith Observatory, Bixby Canyon Bridge around Big Sur, Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, and Stephen and I on some rocks at Venice Beach in LA.
Neither of us are in love with this particular fish eye lens--it's not the greatest, but fish eye is still fun!
And then a couple weeks later, LA came and took care of me.
I shall again be returnin' to Tallmadge for Christmas this year! New Years, however, may be spent in Savannah, GA with my little piece of LA :)

Visitation Hours
When I was home in December/January, my little lovelies and I worked on a short film. This is the end result (!)
Stephen's brother, Eric, directed this, and did a most wonderful job :)

Madwoman in the Attic
It's times like this that I RAH-HEELY miss English courses.
Lezley Saar's "Madwoman in the Attic" exhibit:

Just one, for the rest:
EXHIBIT
And it's in LA. Well, Jiminey Cricket.

Yoko Ono
When I was home for Christmas, my friend Deven told me about her fashion line and how absurd it is:
Y.O.'S MEN'S FASHION
What on EARTH, woman.

Fashion Inspiration: Les Miserables
Clickity click!
J'adore.
And while on the subject, the 2012 Les Miserables, it was the cat's pajamas (which I just found out means "held in great respect.") I've been wary of this movie since day one, and was so until I saw it, but it was very well done. Some of the shots (especially a couple of Javert) were phenomenal; the focus and placement of people/things gets an A+. And the Thenardiers, good grief were they cast perfectly. And I kept forgetting it was Hugh Jackman as Valjean. I also thought they rounded out the characters and fleshed out their stories more so than I've ever seen before. For example, when is little Eponine EVER seen?? She's not. And Enjolras (l'swoon), boy was he in this one!
I guess it was incredibly silly of me to think I wouldn't cry. HA.

Not Fade Away
Ooooh, another big one for him!
If you recall, when My Soul To Take came out, I was extremely excited because a friend of mine from a dance studio from years ago was in it. And now he's in yet another movie I was already interested in!
(John's the singer)
AND, added bonus! Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows) is in it, as well! Hoorah!
