That's just like Jell-O on springs!

They actually look very pretty in some scenes. And I've never been one for Marilyn, but she, Jack Lemmon, and Tony Curtis are incredible in this. Some of the best acting I've seen in a while. Especially from that era because a lot of those movies/actors sort of run together after a while, but the acting here really stands out: it's not only utterly hilarious, but it's genuine.

I think this will be my wedding song, HA. It's such greatness. Makes me smile. David Bowie, the Francos, Bob Davis, and a couple of my friends have this same talent; the talent of rendering an uncontrollable smile on my face BECAUSE of their smiles.

David Bowie's definitely one of those people who's smile is contagious. I was watching some of his videos and was saddened because I want to watch him dance around LIVE. C'mon, lover, just tour. Bob Dylan did! And he's like 103. Haaaa. Kidding, Bobby D--loveee you. It WAS great seeing Dylan live. And I bet Bowie would be just as kickA.

In other news, these are some commercials that I saw one after the other yesterday night on some local channel:

"S&M take out" -a fast food, Swenson's-esque looking place that claimed to have very "fresh" food. Looked greasy and disgusting. Also, the name. WHATTTT.

"Dollar Paradise" -a dollar store. The voice of a man was rattling off items they sell in a normal, advertisement way, and then all of the sudden, he pauses, and in a very deep voice says, "BRAS!"

This last one is sort of just a grammatical thing:
"Free braces for children 20 and under!"
Apparently all you 18-20 year olds are still children. Only when you're 21 are you an adult. Ok, that's all fine and dandy, but 18+ is the general "adult" age.

Les Miserables

Reunion of original London cast, 1985, performing in 2006. Although there are really no clips of this like there are for the version that was on TV some years ago, I grew up on these voices and think I'm partial to them.

She's 80s-tastic in this video, but she's the same lovely lady singing after the couple in the reunion. The whiny girl, yeah. And my favvvvorite character, always has been. And "On My Own" (second video) has never gotten old. She sings it a bit differently than the version I have but it's mostly the same.

I read once

in this article this woman had written that we don't have to find justifications for the things we like. Or something. I just spent a good 15 minutes trying to find the article in my old journals and didn't find it. I KNOW it's there...hmph. Anyway, my dad had given me the article years ago and I LOVED it. It made me feel great.

-PBR
-fixed gear bikes (I will admit that I haven't tried one but I DO know that when I'm on my bike, I shift a lot and appreciate the ability to do so)

-confrontation (although, when I was little, I remember declaring that I wanted to be a lawyer like grandpa because I liked to argue)
-silk pajamas/bedding

Velvet-voiced boy

I wanted to see this before. Now I NEED to see this because my childhood friend whom I took dance with and was in Babes in Toyland with, John Magaro, is in My Soul to Take (Wes Craven). He's the one with the curly, dark hair. He was a sweetie and I remember one of my friends had a crush on him, but he was 3 years older, an eternity when you're 7 and he's 10. This is my second friend from Brad French Studio to "make it big," which is really spectacular because it was such a little baby studio (that ended up closing (so sad) when I was about 12 or so).

I'm just waiting for MY crush from the studio to do something great. Oh, what a guy ;)

Man-boots

Besides this being a hilarious and great picture, he wore those boots (click the picture to make it bigger/make boots more visable) at the show in September and they are the best man-boots ever. It's like they were made for himmmmm.

Delaware, Ohio Antique Shops

The Savoy: mostly produced in the 1960s, I believe, and comes in other colors, but this is the color I found it in (!)

Lauren and I went to a couple of the antique shops in Delaware, Ohio, and I found this little number. Yes, it takes 620 film, but it can take 120 if re-spooled.

I also bought some old postcards (for Geoff, K, Caitlin, and probably others, can't remember right now)something for K, something for Amy, something for my mom, and this lovely necklace that has one of Toulouse-Lautrec's paintings on it. I'm actually not familiar with the painting, nor can I find it, but it's this sassy-looking, perhaps contemplating woman. *Shrugs.*
